The Atlas base unit is the centre of any Atlas system. The atlas base can be configured into a variety of different systems for different applications such as discovery or process chemistry. In every case, the hardware clicks into place in seconds without the need for tools and can be controlled in three ways:
1) Turn the control knob to change hotplate or circulator fluid temperature and magnetic or overhead stirrer speed. Connect many bases for parallel chemistry in a master-slave fashion.
2) Edit and run profiles automatically from the base to control heating, cooling, stirring and reagent addition. Connect many bases in parallel to run one profile on all.
Without PC control, the intelligent base can control circulator or reaction temperature, overhead stirrer speed and reagent addition from a pump. Data from sensors such as thermocouples, pH sensors, turbidity probes and stirrers are recorded by the base and can be downloaded to a USB stick.
3) Use full PC software for complex recipe control, real time data plotting and control of third party hardware. The software can also control many bases at a time with different profiles.
The Atlas base unit includes ports for the scorpion stirrer (2101004), magnetic stirrer (2101002), hotplate (2101001), reaction vessel drip tray (2101039), temperature nodes (2101021) (or triple node socket (2101024)) and support rods (2101009) for mounting further apparatus.
