  Dry Bath - Safe, clean, fast reaction heating

What are Dry Baths
The Atlas Stacking Dry Bath is a new way of heating round bottom flasks without the issues associated with oil baths.  The Stacking Dry Bath has a series of concentric cups to hold round bottom flasks from 50ml to 1 litre.  The cups provide excellent thermal transfer to optimise heating times.  The exterior of the Dry Bath is cool to the touch even when the Dry Bath is hot.
Dry Bath benefits
  • Lower cost: One Atlas Stacking Dry Bath can be used to heat and cool: 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 ml round bottom flasks

  • Parallel round bottom flasks: The Triple Dry Bath allows 3 flasks of 50, 100 or 250 ml to be heated or cooled simultaneously

  • Parallel vials: 6, 8 or 12 reaction vials can be heated using the Vial Bath inserts

  • Quick heating: Sleek design reduces the mass of the block to be heated, improving heat-up times

  • High temperature: Can safely operate up to 280°C

  • Low temperature: Cool down to -40°C

  • Safe: Protection from heat by safety shield, in an emergency the dry bath can be picked up and moved

  • Rapid cooling: Safety shield convection airflow allows the reaction to be cooled quickly for rapid work-up 

  • Fits all leading brand of hotplate: Syrris Atlas, IKA etc (fits hotplate diameter of 13.5 cm, 5 5/16”)

  • Robust: Designed for use in chemical laboratories

  • Flexible: The 500ml round bottom flask insert form the Stacking Dry bath can be replaced by Vial Bath inserts


  • Deep cups: Maximised heated surface area to improve heat-up time and minimise the difference between the block and solution temperature


  • No cracking: Prevents cracking of glassware as found with other designs


  • Temperature accuracy: Each cup has a thermocouple probe hole close to the reaction
